The main looks like a Kamen Rider (bug eyes!), the premise sounds like something from Kamen Rider Zi-O or Decade, the whole rainbow-y thingy and the non-human team members have big Den-O vibes, and really, the whole thing just feels very Kamen Rider-y. Maybe Toei is trying to Rider-ize the Sentai franchise after Sentai’s toy/merch sales became a lot and a lot worse while Kamen Rider in comparison, still has strong merch sales.

Yeah, I know of the first two Sentai series (the only two created by Ishinomori), and I do know that they’re paying tribute to the team leaders of each show, but the way they execute the reference is very ridery. They’re referencing the look of the first two Sentai series mains, but the result of the combination is very Hesei Rider in design. And it’s not only how the protag looks, but how the whole thing feels.
